Hungry Ear Records proudly announces a personal appearance by legendary musician & producer Todd Rundgren at 4 PM on Saturday, April 16: Record Store Day 2011! Todd will debut his new CD, "Todd Rundgren's Johnson," a tribute to blues master Robert Johnson, which is being released exclusively to indie record stores on Record Store Day. Following a Q&A, Todd will meet with fans & sign copies of the CD.

Record Store Day is the one day per year that all indie record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day, and hundreds of artists in the United States and in various countries across the globe make special appearances and performances. Hawaii's oldest record store, locally owned and operated, open in the same location since 1980! We buy and sell new and used CDs and Records.

Luke Yamashiro and two partners founded Hungry Ear Records in 1980. The Kailua store quickly became a landmark for lovers of all musical styles and formats. Sadly, Luke passed away in 2005, but his spirit and original store location live on, enriching the community.

In 2008, former Hungry Ear employees Ward Yamashita and Dennie Chong returned to run the store. Not only do they bring years of experience in the industry, but also years of collecting music. Hungry Ear Records continues to provide great customer service, selection, and shopping experience to locals and visitors.
